Nel mondo odierno le connessioni ad Internet senza fili sono in crescita esponenziale. E’ quindi sempre più facile trovare amici o conoscenti che installando internet acquistino anche un router che sfrutti la tecnologia Wi-Fi. Ma come mai nessuno compera router con tecnologia WiMAX?

La risposta è semplice: perché i modelli in commercio sono veramente pochi. Eppure col WiMAX si ottengono vantaggi soprattutto per quanto riguarda la velocità di trasmissione dei dati e il range di copertura sul territorio. Inoltre, entrambe le tecnologie sfruttano i protocolli come IEEE 802.2 permettendo l’interoperabilità.
